Cristina Hanes (she/her) is a Romanian filmmaker. She co-founded NoCut Film Collective in 2016 with Isabella Rinaldi and Arya Rothe. Their directorial debut, A Rifle and a Bag, won Special Mention at the International Film Festival Rotterdam (2020). Her short film António e Catarina won the Pardino D’oro Award for Best International Short at Locarno Film Festival (2017). Her films have received support from Chicken & Egg Films, Doha Film Institute, IDFA Bertha Fund, CNC Romania, Federal Office of Culture Switzerland, and others. She is an alumna of Points North Fellowship, Emerging Producers, DocNomads MA, and Berlinale Talents.
