
Gabriela Pena (she/her) is a Chilean-Spanish documentary filmmaker and producer. Co-founder of Grieta Cine production company based in ValparaĂso, Chile. In 2024 she co-directed the hybrid short film Familiađź’–đź’Ž with Picho GarcĂa, which had its World Premiere at True/False Film Festival. In 2021 she directed her first documentary feature Zoila, which premiered at SANFIC Santiago de Chile International Film Festival’s Chilean Feature Film Competition and received the First Prize at FIDBA Buenos Aires International Documentary Film Festival’s Gender and Generations Competition. Currently she is working on her second documentary feature Here, the Silence is Heard co-directed with Picho GarcĂa. The project is in editing stage and is a Chilean-Spanish co-production that has been supported by Sundance Institute, Chicken & Egg Pictures among others.
