Shirley Abraham (she/her) is a Cannes and World Press Photo award-winning Indian documentary filmmaker. She has directed, produced, and edited The Cinema Travellers (Official Selection, Cannes 2016), Searching for Saraswati (The New York Times, 2018), The Hour of Lynching (The Guardian, 2019), and The Great Abandonment (The Guardian, upcoming), along with Amit Madheshiya. Her work has won numerous international honors and fellowships including the President’s Medal in India. Shirley is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
