A young Indigenous filmmaker returns to her village in the Eastern Himalayas, where an invasive beetle threatens her family’s ancestral orange orchard. What begins as a portrait of climate crisis turns inward as she films her mother, a stoic orchard-keeper facing impossible choices, and her younger sister, who dreams of escape. The three women’s interwoven journeys explore the fragile bonds between land, memory, and womanhood. Intimate and atmospheric, the film asks: How do we hold on to love, history, and each other, when everything around us is changing?

Orange, Beetle, Mother & I is a 2026 (Egg)celerator Lab film.
