Awards & Fellowships

Annecy International Animation Film Festival

The world's leading event dedicated to animated film ran June 1013.

✦ Iryna Tsilyk’s Red Zone won the Ciclic Prize in the Mifa Pitches. The award includes a €25,000 grant and a two-month animation residency in Vendôme, France.

Canadian Screen Awards

Each year, the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television recognizes excellence in Canadian film, English-language television, and digital media.

✦ Jennifer Wickham, Brenda Michell, and Michael Toledano’s Yintah won Best Documentary Feature

Female Filmmakers Support Programme (Uniqa South-East Europe Future Foundation and Sarajevo Film Festival)

The initiative supports women filmmakers from six South-East European countries and has distributed 180,000 Euros in funding for this year.

✦ Biljana Tutorov’s The Last Nomads was one of the five projects selected to receive financial support and  participate in Sarajevo Film Festival’s CineLink Industry Days through its Industry Training and Skills Program

An annual celebration of documentary and nonfiction films, Margaret Mead Film Festival ran May 24 at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. ✦ Sasha Wortzel’s River of Grass received the Audience Award

Provincetown International Film Festival

This celebration of independent film and communities outside of the mainstream ran June 1115.
