Yael Melamede (she/her) co-founded the independent production company SALTY Features more than two decades ago. The company’s most recent films include: Floyd Abrams: Speaking Freely, a documentary on free speech through the story of a First Amendment lawyer; and PAY OR DIE, a documentary examining the health insurance cost crisis in America through the lens of Type 1 diabetes. Other credits include (Dis)honesty, The Truth About Lies; the Academy Award-winning Inocente; the Emmy-winning When I Walk; and the Academy Award-nominated My Architect. Trained as an architect, Yael now serves on the Board of UnionDocs and Living City Project and is a member of the Documentary Producers Alliance and the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences.
