After starting her career at the National Film Board of Canada, Sahar Yousefi (she/her) went on to produce and finance award-winning projects selected for festivals such as HotDocs, Sundance, SFFLIM, and SXSW, and financially supported by Sundance, Doha Film Institute, Telefilm, Red Sea, Chicken & Egg Films, CBC, and Catapult, among others. She is currently in production on several international documentaries, including Asea by Gabriela Osio Vanden, whose 2021 short Nuisance Bear won a Critics Choice Award and was shortlisted for an Oscar; It’s Winter by Sajad Imani, a 2024 finalist for The Whickers; and Amanecer, Atardecer by Bryan Angarita. Sahar is an alumna of EAVE, American Cinema Editors, Torino SeriesLab, The Gotham, HotDocs Accelerator, RIDM Talent Lab, EFM/Berlinale Toolbox, Film Independent Fast Track, The Rotterdam Lab, and Eurodoc. Alongside producing, she is Head of Investments and Production at RMA Ventures, where she scouts and manages investments in international films, series, and media companies for a newly launched $100M equity fund.
