Pinny Grylls (she/her) won the BFI & Chanel Filmmaker Award for Creative Audacity in 2024 and is a 2025 BAFTA Breakthrough artist. Her multi award-winning debut feature, Grand Theft Hamlet, also won a Grierson Award, the SXSW Jury Prize, and two British Independent Film Awards. An ethnographer by training, she has directed for Channel 4, The Guardian, and the BBC, and her formally adventurous work finds new ways to film human connection. A proud member of the deaf community, she is a BSL user.
