Jialing Zhang (she/her) is a Chinese documentary filmmaker in the U.S. who directed Total Trust (CPH DOX 2023; Doc NYC Grand Jury Prize 2023), One Child Nation (Sundance Grand Jury Prize, 2019), and Complicit (Human Rights Watch Film Festival 2017). She produced In the Same Breath (Sundance Film Festival 2021), which was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award. Zhang merges cinematic and journalistic skills, addressing social issues and winning awards such as the Peabody, Ridenhour Courage Prize, and German Documentary Film Award 2024, as well as accolades from Sundance, Sheffield Doc/Fest, Stockholm, and SXSW.
