
Anirban Dutta (he/him) is a filmmaker, still photographer, and media educator. He has directed and produced several documentary films and created photographic essays on diverse topics such as children’s rights, biodiversity, environmental issues, health, and gender and sexuality. His films have screened at Sundance, CPH:DOX, IDFA, HotDocs, New York Short Film Festival, Al Jazeera Film Festival, San Sebastian Human Rights Film Festival, and the international film festivals at Busan, Yamagata, and Mumbai. He co-directed and produced the feature documentary Flickering Lights, which received the Best Cinematography Award at IDFA 2023. Anirban has been a Visiting Artist at the University of Boise and Stanica Slovakia and has exhibited at the University of Lima as well as around India. He was part of the Eurodoc Training Program for Creative Producing in 2021. He was also part of Film Independent's Global Media Makers LA Residency in 2022 with the film Nocturnes that he produced and co-directed. Nocturnes premiered at Sundance 2024, where it received the Special Jury Award for Craft.
