Mannix, a high school freshman, prepares for the Science Genius B.A.T.T.L.E.S. (Bringing Attention to Transforming, Teaching, and Learning Science), an annual rap battle exclusively made up of science-themed rhymes from New York City public school kids. For Mannix, winning the competition would allow him to craft his musical skills, which he hopes will one day transform his world and lift him, his mom, and baby sister out of the projects. The film shows us that, despite the stereotype, Black and Latino youth do engage in science fields, and with a personalized twist.

Kids Can Spit participated in the 2017 (Egg)celerator Lab.
